The Sciton© Profile™ laser system is modular, with various components that can be upgraded, changeable filters, and the ability to do a wide variety of customized treatments. This laser allows us to customize a MicroLaserPeel™ just for you and your skin type. It also contains a 1064 infrared laser for hair and vein removal, a 1319 wavelength for collagen stimulation and acne therapy, a Broad Beam Light source (BBL) for hyperpigmentation, rosacea & acne, a blue light used for acne laster treatment, and the newest "Skin Tyte" light treatment for skin tightening. Its superior results are extremely safe, highly effective and unequaled compared with other lasers used in this area.

The Sciton© Profile™ Laser technology utilizes precisely regulated energy to bring an entirely new approach to cosmetic care treating a wide range of conditions. It sends its beam through a cooling plate of sapphire, which protects your skin from heat more effectively than previously-used lasers. The laser pulses are sent not by manual movement, but via a computer-controlled scanner. This creates the exact amount of overlap desired. The laser sends its pulses in a certain pattern that makes sure every tiny part of the skin is treated, each pulse being delivered at a different time from the neighboring ones. This separates the heat of each pulse, preventing any build-up.

The fact that it has two lasers means that one can fire while the other one recharges, which speeds up the procedure. The Sciton© Profile™ has a wide beam which can target many hair follicles with each pulse of light. That means that large body areas can be treated at one time. The laser has a very adjustable control system which automatically takes into account the skin type and hair thickness. This means that it optimizes each treatment for that individual.

The various modules allow it to deliver outstanding results for many procedures. The Clear Scan large Area Pattern Generator (LAPG) allows it to treat much larger areas at one time than older laser systems. The MicroLaserPeel module is a more precise alternative to chemical peels. The Vascular module treats both facial and leg veins and comes with many tips, so that it can be used on every skin type and for all conditions.

The Sciton© Profile™is a dramatic skin clearing, skin tightening, antiwrinkle procedure. Procedures produce immediate results enhancing skin coloration, texture, pore size & elasticity with long lasting effects.

Both laser peel types are significantly deeper than microdermabrasion and require an anesthetic cream applied to the skin.  These peels are typically repeated two to four times, eight to ten weeks apart, to achieve the desired result.  Your skin will feel smoother and tighter and appear younger and healthier.  The peels can also be used on the neck, chest and hands.  Recovery time is three to five days.

The Sciton© Profile™contains a 1064 infrared laser that selectively targets hair follicles and heats them with infrared energy.  It is very effective for lighter skin types and, because of the relatively low absorption of this light by melanin; it is the safest and most effective choice when treating darker skin types (much safer than IPL, used in most “med spas”).

The laser uses a computer-guided scanner that ensures your skin is rapidly and evenly treated.  The scanner laser fires through a coolant window placed on the skin for maximum comfort.  Treatments are brief and need to be repeated four to six times, typically over intervals of six to eight weeks, to ensure results.  Only hairs in the growth phase (anagen) will respond to treatment.  Post-treatment redness typically fades within a few minutes. 

This laser treatment is highly effective for pseudofolliculitis (shaving bumps) in men.

How does it work?

The Sciton© Profile™ incorporates a new 1319 scanner treatment targeting the deeper dermal tissues to stimulate natural collagen and elastin fibers that smooth out wrinkles and scars and improve acne. This “lunchtime laser” treatment is a quick and easy procedure that takes between 15 and 30 minutes to complete, with virtually no side effects. Cooling technology protects the sensitive surface layers of the skin, allowing the laser light to penetrate to a deeper level and stimulate new collagen growth. Patients who wear cosmetics can reapply them right away. At least three treatments are recommended to stimulate new collagen growth, followed by regular “touch-up” treatments to sustain the continued growth of new collagen.

The 1319 treatment is also used to reduce cystic acne. Treatment recommended every 1-2 weeks for 6-8 treatments. Best results seen when combined with microdermabrasion.

For acne sufferers whose skin has become resistant to ointments and medications, or for those who simply want to eliminate the daily hassles of such acne treatment regimens, blue light acne therapy has become a popular treatment option. Blue light therapy systems, offer acne treatment that is gentle and non-invasive. We have seen the most dramatic results in inflammatory acne in as little as two sessions! This blue light destroys acne causing bacteria deep within the skin, which in turn results in prompt resolution of pustules and redness.

What is Blue Light Acne Therapy?
    A new approach to the treatment of Acne is the use of high-intensity, narrow-band blue light to treat mild to moderate acne. This pain-free light is safe and uses no ultraviolet (UV) light or lasers. When blue light is used as a treatment for acne, it kills p. acnes, the acne-causing bacteria that can form within the sebaceous glands and cause break outs.


Are multiple blue light treatments necessary?
    A series of weekly blue light acne treatments for several weeks are recommended to achieve optimal results. However, the amount and frequency of treatments that you will need depends on the severity of your acne and how well it responds to treatment. Many patients see results with two weekly treatments. To maintain results after the initial series of treatments, monthly treatments are often recommended.

How Lines and Wrinkles Can Form Between the Brows:

Movement of brow muscles cause the skin to crease. Since skin becomes less elastic over time; repeated frowning creates lines and wrinkles between the brows (the clinical term is glabellar lines).
